The "Humvee", High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, was originally produced by AM General for military use. Due to popular demand (and as legend states, interest from Arnold Schwarzenegger) AM General introduced the first consumer availble model branded as the "Hummer" in the mid-90s. GM acquired the brand in 1998 and created the H2 and H3 consumer lineup. The Hummer is a behemoth vehicle built for aggressive off-roading or for those who want to stand out in a crowd.
